I'm very curious how many out there in cyberspace are interested in green design. For those that are unfamiliar with the phrase, all this means is environmentally conscious design. It involves the use of sustainable/earth friendly products. It's getting much easier to find these sorts of products, that's for sure.
The reason I ask is I just read that Australia is banning the use of incandescent bulbs in that country, favoring instead the "energy star" fluorescent bulbs. I'm a huge proponent of reducing energy costs, as well as the inherent reduction in greenhouse gases. My biggest problem with jumping on this bandwagon is that fluorescent bulbs just don't emit the same type of light that you get from an incandescent bulb. I'd love to hear thougths on this topic!!
In the meantime, I will gradually begin replacing all the bulbs in my home with fluorescents. One small step ...

I'm glad Kai likes the great outdoors! Can't beat it!
Congrats on your new job, Joe! I didn't realize you were not working for a while.

Whoops. I hate autofill... Sorry about that. You can delete my previous comment (it was for another blog and somehow got automatically entered again here when I logged into my google account).
Regarding this post, I totally understand your enthusiam about going green. I would love to use solar, wind or water power on my own property.
As a photographer I don't like fluorescent bulbs much because of the green color. Do you know if anyone has come out with a daylight balanced fluorescent bulb yet? It may not be possible, but it sure would be nice.
